MJC FILM PROMOTES FOOD FOR THOUGHT: MJC's Civic Engagement Project's film series will present a screening of "Future of Food," at 7 p.m. Thursday in Forum 110 at the east campus, 435 College Ave. A discussion will follow, with panelists Ida Bowers, Professor of Geography and Coordinator of Environmental & Resource Studies at California State University, Stanislaus; Ray Souza, Turlock dairy farmer; and Alison L. Van Eenennaam, animal genomics and biotechnology extension specialist with the Department of Animal Science at the University of California at Davis. Organizers said the film offers an in-depth investigation into the truth behind genetically engineered foods, shot on location in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
